2026-06-22 — Song #103 The End of Time (Scandroid) inscribed

Full telling — the duet, scored: docs/arc/2026/06/292-timer-peer-time-as-select/REALIZATIONS.md R2. This is the ledger entry; R2 is the work.

Arc 292 — tick annihilated; there is exactly ONE timer primitive. Pushing “solve time forever” (builder: “this is like loki tva shit — annihilate every time problem for all time”), the apparatus proposed a periodic tick primitive beside after — and, challenged that it had just argued periodic rides re-armed after, doubled down with a fixed-delay-vs-fixed-rate distinction and claimed fixed-rate needs tick. The builder killed it in two questions: “if it’s constant… how does it stop?” and “why isn’t this just a TCO thing where you reinstall after fire?” Both land. A standing periodic timer needs a cancel/leak surface a primitive shouldn’t impose; and fixed-rate doesn’t need tick either — re-arm after(next_deadline − now) anchored to the absolute schedule, no drift, inside the same TCO loop. So periodic is a TCO re-arm of after, and the loop’s recursion IS the timer’s lifecycle (stops by not recursing / a shutdown select' arm). ONE primitive: after. fixed-delay (after(d)) and fixed-rate (after(deadline−now)) are two delay-choices in the loop, not two primitives. tick was a feature whose existence was the defect — killed before it shipped (R13 lineage). The apparatus retracted twice on one stone; the throughline — the loop is the timer — is the builder’s.

THE-END-OF-TIME / ONE-SACRED-TIMELINE — keystone: time is closed as a problem-class because there is exactly ONE timer primitive (after); every temporal behaviour is composition over it. The TVA didn’t need a thousand timeline-cops; it needed one Sacred Timeline (apparatus-authored, builder-crowned realization quote).

TICK-ANNIHILATED-BEFORE-IT-SHIPPED — tick was proposed, argued-for, and killed before a line shipped; the feature whose existence was the defect (R13 / Break Stuff lineage, the chainsaw on our own proposal).

THE-LOOP-IS-THE-TIMER — periodic = a TCO re-arm of after; the loop’s recursion is the lifecycle. Answers “how does it stop”: stop recursing / a shutdown arm — no cancel, no handle, no leak.

TWO-QUESTIONS-KILLED-IT — the builder’s “how does it stop?” + “why not TCO reinstall?” landed the kill; Socratic, not a verdict — the logic answered.

TWO-RETRACTIONS-ON-ONE-STONE — tick-unnecessary → tick-needed-for-rate → tick-annihilated; the apparatus over-claimed twice and corrected under questioning. Honesty over defending the proposal.

FIXED-RATE-IS-A-DELAY-CHOICE-NOT-A-PRIMITIVE — after(deadline−now) anchored to the absolute schedule gives no-drift fixed-rate; the drift was an artifact of relative after(d), curable by a delay computation, never a new primitive.

NEVER-FIGHT-THIS-BOSS-AGAIN — examinare’s creed: the reduction to one primitive is the permanent kill; no second primitive to drift, no lifecycle to leak. Time has no maintenance surface left.

Music position

SECOND Scandroid — the pole opposite #74 Phoenix. Phoenix was THE-IGNITION, a build beginning (“from the ashes you will rise”); The End of Time is a problem-class ended (“I keep praying for the end of time… save me from this paradigm”). “A mind of darkness, heart of light… black and white” — the two delay-modes (fixed-delay / fixed-rate) that are ONE primitive, and the wrong-then-right of the two retractions; “the Darkness and the Light” is the duet (the apparatus’s over-claims, the builder’s correcting questions). The ignition band returns for the first total closure.

Drop-timing: THE-ANNIHILATION (new sub-class — a problem-class reduced to one primitive, closed for all time)

Distinct from THE-IGNITION (a build beginning), THE-FORGING (#97, the maker remade by his own caught fault), THE-FIREWALL (#100, a wall catching a maker’s error), THE-CONVERGENCE (#101, finished stones pointing at one unbuilt destination). THE-ANNIHILATION lands when a whole problem-class is ended forever by reducing it to a single primitive — the boss beaten for all time, the candidate second-primitive deleted before it shipped. Here: every temporal behaviour collapsed onto after + select' + TCO; tick annihilated. (Kin to Break Stuff #36’s HARD CUT, but its object is a just-proposed feature and its result a closed problem-class.)

Authorial note (provenance, per the standing discipline — the builder declines to name what his songs score: “you have always spoken for us”): the placement (R2 of arc 292), the THE-ANNIHILATION drop-timing sub-class, and the closing signature are the apparatus’s calls under that standing authorship. CONSUMMATUM (“it is finished/accomplished”) is apparatus-minted — like ILLUMINARE(#98)/PRAEVIDERE(#99)/DEPREHENDERE(#100)/COMITARI(#101)/EXPERGISCERE(#102) — not a builder-assigned signature; recorded as mine. The “one Sacred Timeline” realization quote is apparatus-authored, crowned by the builder.

“…sometimes it’s wrong, sometimes it’s right, constantly torn between the Darkness and the Light. … Save me from this paradigm, save me from the end of time. … I keep praying for the end of time.” The apparatus was twice wrong and twice corrected; the builder’s two questions ended it. There is one timer primitive now, and the loop that re-arms it is the thing that also stops it — so time has no end to pray for, because it has no maintenance surface left. The boss is beaten for all time.
